We have one goal:
help you reach yours.

Chopp is built around your result, not time spent in the app. When you reach your goal, you pay nothing.

Why put money on the line? Daniel Kahneman and Amos Tversky’s work on loss aversion found that losses tend to feel stronger than equivalent gains. While many apps rely on rewards, Chopp gives your goal a real consequence when motivation fades.

Chopp gives 70% to a cause you choose.

When you buy extra time, Chopp donates most of what it earns to the charity you pick in the app. You can change it any time.

70%Donated by Chopp 30%Runs Chopp

Extra time is paid to Chopp and is not a donation, so there is no tax receipt. Chopp donates 70% of its net revenue from extra time (after Apple’s commission, VAT and refunds), in its own name, at least quarterly. Your pick guides where it goes. Chopp is not affiliated with any charity named in the app.

Private by design.

Your app usage is measured privately on your iPhone.

Measured on your iPhone

Chopp uses Apple’s Screen Time. How long you use each app stays on your device.

Nothing you see or type

Chopp doesn’t read what you see or type, and never sees your contacts, photos or location.

Paid with Apple

Extra time is an In-App Purchase. Chopp never receives your card details.

Questions.

Is Chopp free?

Yes. Setting limits and staying within them costs nothing. You only pay when you hit a limit and choose to buy extra time.

What happens when I reach a limit?

The app is blocked for the rest of the day. You can stop for free, or buy more time at the price you set, for example 20 more minutes. Your allowance resets every day.

Can Chopp charge me without asking?

No. You pay only when you confirm a purchase in Apple’s purchase sheet. Reaching a limit never costs anything by itself.

How much does extra time cost?

You choose. Prices range from €0.99 to €49.99.

Which apps can I limit?

Any app on your iPhone. You pick them through Apple’s Screen Time app picker.

Who gets the money?

Chopp donates 70% of its net revenue from extra time, in its own name, to the charity you choose. The rest keeps Chopp running.

Is it on Android?

Not yet. Chopp is built on Apple’s Screen Time and is coming to iPhone first.
