This Privacy Policy describes how CHOPP ("CHOPP", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use our mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in a transparent and responsible manner. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
1. Information You Provide
When you sign in with Apple, we receive your name and email address (or a private relay email if you choose to hide your email). We also store information you provide while using the Service, including your daily app limits, your chosen price for extra time, your chosen charity, and your purchase and donation history.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect your browsing activity, anything you see or type in other apps, or your full Screen Time history. How long you use each app is measured and stays on your device. We do not access your contacts, photos, location, or microphone.
3. Screen Time Data
The Service uses Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls frameworks to enforce the limits you set. Your usage is measured on your device. To run your limits and fees, our servers store, for each limit you create: the app's name (when known), Apple's anonymous app token (an identifier only your device can resolve), and your daily limit. When you go over a limit, your device sends the day and the number of minutes over, used solely to calculate and apply the fee you authorized. We never use Screen Time data for advertising, never sell it, and never share it with third parties; our payment processor receives only the amount of each charge.
4. Payment Information
Purchases are processed by Apple through In-App Purchase. CHOPP never receives your payment card details. We receive a record of each purchase (such as the product, price, date, and Apple's transaction identifier) to unlock the time you bought, show your history, and calculate donations.
5. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate and provide the Service, including: authenticating your account, unlocking extra time you purchase, calculating and making donations, maintaining your purchase history, providing customer support, complying with legal and financial obligations, and detecting or preventing fraud and abuse.
6. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only with service providers who help us operate the Service, such as Apple (authentication and In-App Purchase) and infrastructure providers, and only to the extent necessary to perform their functions. We may also disclose information when required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account and transaction data for as long as your account is active and as required to comply with legal, tax, accounting, and financial recordkeeping obligations. When data is no longer required, we delete or anonymize it in accordance with applicable law.
8. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time through the app settings. Some information may be retained where we are legally required to keep it.
9. Data Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit, to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it promptly.
11. International Users
Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, where data protection laws may differ. By using the Service, you consent to such transfer, processing, and storage in accordance with this Policy.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will provide notice through the app or other appropriate means and update the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
